Students will learn the fundamentals of moving metal using small tools and hammers to create high relief in almost any type of metal. The techniques of Chasing and Repousse utilize the plasticity quality of metal, allowing high relief to be achieved.

The Material fee is high because students will leave the class with their own 8” diameter pitch bowl (deep bowl, not thin) filled with Red German pitch and a Repousse hammer. We find that most students buy these items anyway after the class because without them, you can’t go home and practice what you have learned! You will be purchasing these items with your materials fee BELOW RETAIL. Check around. An 8”pitch bowl kit will run $112-$130 alone.   Repousse hammers can range from $10-$50 depending on the quality. The hammers included in the fee are a good quality, economy hammer. This hammer will last for years if you choose not to upgrade to a German hammer later.
